Honoring Black History Month with the WHSC Library Historical Collections

Honoring Black History Month, the Woodruff Health Sciences Center Library is highlighting resources in our historical collections featuring information on Black students, staff, and faculty members from the Emory Community.

Dating back to the mid-19th Century, the highlighted collections include photographs, bibliographic files, newspaper clippings, and more.  Highlighted collections feature School of Nursing administrative records, oral history interviews, faculty and alumni highlights from the School of Medicine, and information on other Atlanta-area hospitals and medical centers.

While efforts have been made to share these collections virtually, the majority of holdings are still available in-person only.  Inquiries for working with these collections can be made to the Historical Collections Archivist, Ashley Stevens.
